We had an amazing achievement and are proud to announce two of our products have been picked as Wirecutter.com’s top 100 popular products for February 2022.

Why is this such a big deal? For one, Wirecutter was acquired by the New York Times in 2016 so it is a major online publication. It provides guides to consumer products in many different categories. From tech to home & garden to gifts and more, you can find a vast amount of reviews on everyday products so you as the consumer can make informed purchase decisions. They also have many articles about tips and tricks, how-to’s, industry news and daily deals. It’s easy to say that if you’re looking to make a purchase, Wirecutter probably has an article about it.

For us, we had no idea Wirecutter was going to write an article about nail clippers. And we certainly had no idea they would choose our products as the #1 and #2 picks for nail clippers. We are humbled by this result. But we also know that getting top picks in in this category is likely not by chance. Green Bell, the manufacturer of both Green Bell  and Seki Edge products, has been manufacturing top notch nail clippers for decades. Honing in on a craft and art that not many were doing allowed their nail clippers to stand out and dominate the category.

Both nail clippers are excellent. They are sharp, make clean cuts, have a bit of weight to them and last for many years. They are easy to hold and they look really nice. In the initial Wirecutter article that showcased their top picks for nail clippers, the authors mentioned they interviewed a podiatrist and tested 10 different nail clippers over the last 5 years. Plus, they consulted with a nail tech with a decade of experience to help them analyze these products. It’s easy to say that they didn’t take this review lightly and they put in careful thought and time into making their ranking.

We are not surprised they chose the Green Bell G-1008 nail clipper as their top pick. Having handled this nail clipper ourselves, the feel of the clipper is fantastic. You can only really know why it’s so fantastic until after you’ve used it. The simple ease of use, the sharpness of the blades and the control are amazing. We only sell this nail clipper on Amazon at the moment. However, we do sell a similar nail clipper in the Seki Edge line, the Seki Edge Stainless Steel Nail Clipper SS-112. The only different between the two is the back end of the body of the nail clippers. The G-1008 is more pointed and the SS-112 is more round. But the jaw and opening are the same.

As far as their second pick, we were happy to see the Seki Edge Stainless Steel Nail Clipper SS-106 was named #2. Seeing it is our best-selling fingernail clipper, we know this clipper gives a great experience, leaves sharp cuts and works effortlessly. It is true that the SS-106 does not have a built-in nail file, which may or not be an issue for some people. But at the same time, it is slightly cheaper than the G-1008 so if you want something more budget friendly this is the way to go.
