In this video Sergey creates a versatile wolf shag haircut. It’s a cross between a wolf haircut and a shag haircut on medium length hair. Wolf cuts are basically a haircut that’s in between a shag and a mullet. So it has a mixture of bangs and layers. It has a more choppy look which creates volume and texture. Regarding hair type, this hairstyle is generally done on short to medium hair and can be done on straight or wavy hair. It can work on curly hair too. A curly wolf is fun and funky. But it might not work as well on fine hair or thin hair. It’s a trendy style that is often worn by younger women.
He only uses a Feather Styling Razor to cut hair and achieve the final look. The razor he uses is actually the LX Styling Razor which has been discontinued. However, the head, blades and mechanism are the same as the current models.
He starts by sectioning and cutting the length in the back, creating longer layers. He carefully goes through each section going up the hair. He moves onto the sides and creates some face framing layers and a little curtain bangs to complement the face shape. Using the razor he creates volume and choppy layers which wolf haircuts are iconic for. You can use some texturizing spray or salt spray to create volume.
