About My Work:
For this haircut, we wanted something low maintenance and easy to style. This client prefers to wash his hair and let it air dry so we opted for a super textured, lived in, messy on purpose shullet. I started with small upside down V sections, starting with the bangs and pulling everything forward at a 90 degree angle making sure everything was connected from the ears forward. Once I got to the back I started working in V sections still pulling everything forward at a 90 degree angle but leaving a disconnection to maintain length. We wanted a lot of layers in this cut so once I established the length in the back I pulled up the top section of the back to a 180 degree angle, picked up one of his face framing layers that was the length that we wanted the layers throughout the cut and used that as the guide line for the rest of the layers. From there I rounded the layers out until I worked my way back down to the length around the haircut. I switched between a
Feather Plier Razor and a
Feather Styling Razor throughout the cut. I used the Feather Styling Razor while cutting the shape and used the Feather Plier Razor to carve out weight to encourage texture and to retouch any layers. To style, I used a texture spray and air dry styling balm with a mix of diffusing and hand styling.
