About My Work:
My client was ready for a dramatic transformation in this session! She came in with a mid-length shag and wanted to shift to something shorter and edgier that would frame her face and require minimal styling. I used a combination of the
Feather Detail Styling Razor with
Feather Styling Razor Standard R-Type Blades and my 7” shears on this cut. I started with the bangs and face framing to dial in the vibe of the cut collaboratively with my client. The fringe served as my guide throughout the top sections. She has extremely dense, straight hair so I removed a lot of weight throughout the cut using the razor to notch through sections that needed more movement. When notching, I sliced in the direction I wanted the hair to move, to encourage natural placement and fall. A key design point was to create a strong S curve below the occipital to establish a more feminine shape at the nape. To finish, I used my 7” shears to deep point cut throughout the top to create even more negative space and movement in the cut. I used a lightweight cream to hand style and diffuse and finished with a texture spray and pomade to define the face framing pieces.
