About My Work:
My client had a long shag and was ready for a much shorter, lighter shape. She wanted a very soft perimeter and volume on top. I used my
Feather Styling Razor to create this lotus shaped pixie-combining bold disconnection, along with piecey, wispy ends. I sectioned the bangs where they naturally fell forward and carved deep C shaped cuts to remove weight yet maintain the existing length. For the side sections, I pulled everything forward and used high elevation to keep the ends very light and took upside-down V sections above the ears, and razored that much shorter to expose some of the ear. In the back, I clipped up a V section, from the top of the ears down to the occipital. I also clipped out two vertical sections along either side of the mastoid to create disconnected tendrils that hug around the neck. Then along the nape, I pinched small clumps, held them straight down, and whittled both sides of each chunk to create a petal effect. I dropped the V section and razored it to the round of the head. I elevated a lemon shaped section at the top of the crown straight up, and starting about 2 inches from the head, used broad strokes going short to long to create volume. I used a texture spray and some balm on the ends.
