About My Work:
My client was ready for a dramatic change and knew she wanted to go shorter, almost bob length. She also wanted something low maintenance and this shaggy bob haircut works with her natural texture and will grow out nicely. I used both a
Feather Plier Razor and
Feather Styling Razor throughout the cut to remove weight and create detail and movement that works with the natural texture and flow of the hair growth. Using the Plier Razor, I lifted the hair in 1” vertical sections to see exactly where weight needs to be removed. I visualize each section as a barcode – only removing weight where it is thicker, so it is intentional and doesn’t get thin looking or frizzy. This barcode visualization method helps me be intentional and not over texturize the hair. I switched to a Feather Styling Razor with
Feather Styling Razor Standard Blades and used shorter strokes to create texture in the fringe area. To style, I used a curl cream and sea salt spray while the hair was wet then set it with a brush and a diffuser. I finished with more sea salt spray for extra volume.
