A big chop for a big life milestone! My client decided to go with this shorter style because she was entering a new decade in her life and wanted a big change. She’s also a hairstylist so she wanted to look younger and fresh as that’s the image she provides for her clients. Using my Plier Razor and blades, I tipped and texturized the hair before cutting the length. She has incredibly thick hair so it reacted really well to the blade, allowing me to tip into each section to reduce bulk and then cut length while opening and closing the razor with bigger strokes. This allows for a more fluid haircut. As the hair starts to dry, I switch to scissors to do my final touches but working from the interior to the exterior with slide cutting . I do this because as hair dries it swells and it starts to look fuller, so this technique allows me to stay in control of the volume as it dries and keep the softness I created with the razor. My favorite is to do a razored bob and then clean out the entire perimeter with scissors so it looks like a precise haircut. Precision work is work that is executed with intent and I truly believe precision work can be delivered with an outstanding razor like the Feather Plier.
