JATAI INT'L NAMES CHRISTIE WALDROP NATIONAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR Santa Fe Springs, CA --- Jatai International, master distributor, and marketer of Feather Styling Razors in the U.S., has named Christie Waldrop National Education Coordinator. According to Jatai president Dean Wada, Christie has been a respected industry platform and classroom educator for Jatai for several years, but will now assume added responsibilities in the company's total educational direction for stylists. LAUNCHPAD’S ‘MILESTONES’ FOCUS ON JATAI’s 60TH ANNIVERSARY. OMEDETOU! Jatai International’s 60th Anniversary is the focus of Launchpad Magazine’s special ‘Milestones’ feature in its March issue. The headline reads ‘Omedetou! Jatai International hits the big 6-0, as editor Jeryl Spear interviewed Jatai founder and president Dean Wada and elaborated on the company’s people, products and amazing history since 1950. It is a little known fact, for example that “JATAI’ at that time actually stood for ‘Japan American Trading Agency’. The ‘Milestones’ feature spotlighted Jatai’s Feather Styling Razors (the salon industry’s best selling brand) including the Feather Plier Razor and Nape & Body Razor. JATAI INTERNATIONAL BECOMES "HAIR CARES" SPONSOR: FEATHER STYLING RAZORS GIFTS FOR VOLUNTEERS GIVING FREE HAIRCUTS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED Hair industry icon and former Artistic Director of Vidal Sassoon, Maurice Tidy launched his national "Live to Give" organization 'Hair Cares' with the first of many partner salons throughout the U.S. to give free haircuts and pre-interview maintenance advice for those who have lost their jobs and are competing to find work. Jatai International, known for its renowned Feather styling razors is an on-going Hair Care sponsor for all events throughout the country. One of Maurice Tidy's former Sassoon colleagues, Daniel Rizzardi in his "Secrets" salon in Charlotte, NC became the launching salon for the first of many Hair Cares events planned for many cities around the U.S. Jatai President Dean Wada said, "Every 'Hair Cares' volunteer stylist will receive their choice of a free Feather styling razor, or pack of Feather blades. JATAI / Feather High Sales Performers Enjoy Their ‘Trip Of A Lifetime” To Japan!
The rewards are great for the top-performing Jatai/Feather manufacturer representatives who have demonstrated exemplary annual sales achievement for the past year. From September 23-30, 2009, it was a week in Japan for these top reps and their spouses – and what a week it was! The honored guests included CFN Beauty Representation, Southeast Rep Services, Tom Donohue and Associates and Van Nest Coleman. Everyone described their experience touring the country as “the trip of a lifetime”, as they visited cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Seki in the Gifu Province, where Feather is headquartered and where their products are manufactured and proudly displayed in the famous Feather Museum. Receiving and hosting the manufacturer representatives for the week were Feather’s corporate Board of Directors as well as Feather President Yusuke Goto, Managing Director Naoto Fujita, Overseas Manager Shuri Sanka and Overseas Representative Hisashi Ikehiro.

Jatai Recognizes and Rewards Manufacturers Reps with a Week in Japan! During Cosmoprof/Las Vegas in July, Jatai recognized three manufacturers groups for their annual sales achievement by rewarding a number of their winning reps with an exciting week-long trip to Japan! Tokyo, Osaka and Seki are on the itinerary for the Fall, as Jatai’s guests explore the rich heritage of the company while viewing first hand where and how Jatai’s products are made. Steel industry city Seki, is one of the stops. The city of Seki, synonymous with Samurai and Katana swords, is where Jatai's Feather brand's finest quality stainless steel cutting instruments are manufactured – as well as Jatai’s Seki Edge precision line of beauty and grooming implements. Jatai’ Pink Products’ Support Breast Cancer Awareness Magazines such as DAYSPA and LAUNCHPAD will be publicizing October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month recognizing the manufacturers supporting this cause through special ‘Think Pink’ product’ sales. Jatai International will continue, as it has since 2007, to donate to ‘National Breast Cancer Research’ through the sale during September and October of its custom-designed Jatai/Feather Pink Styling Razor as well as the sale of the company’s popular ‘Pink Grip Clips’. The limited edition Jatai ‘Feather Pink Razor’ will be sold in the Feather Intro Styling Kit at regular salon price. The kit includes the pink razor, a 10-pack of replacement blades, disposal case and DVD. This ergonomic and perfectly-balanced razor gives the user complete control and comfort. The ‘Jatai Pink Grip Clips’ are made of a strong plastic resin that holds it shape and will now ‘bow’ when holding thick hair. To give it a strong grip, a large gage spring wire is used. Jatai Names ‘Esche & Alexander’ As New PR Firm Jatai International President Dean Wada has announced that ‘Esche & Alexander’ Public Relations has been named as the company’s new PR firm. E&A’s ‘PR Power’ principals Sharon Esche and Alex Irving are industry-respected communications strategists who will apply their in-depth beauty industry experience toward Jatai’s new directions in both traditional and social media. Planning is underway for an ’09 -'10 National Public Relations Campaign, kicking off in the Fall and designed to reach out to all of the company’s target audiences involving key brands such as Jatai/Feather precision hair cutting razors, Seki Edge beauty and grooming implements and Fuji Papers. ‘Esche & Alexander’ will also be overseeing all of Jatai International’s advertising.
