Feather Switch-Blade Shears
How long do the blades last?
Typically the blades last between 6 to 9 months depending on the type
of hair and how many heads of hair is cut per day.
Can the blades be interchanged
between different shear models? For example: Can
a shear frame such as a Model 45 accept a 50/55 model
blade?
No. The blades are designed to fit
their appropriate shear. The shear prongs are made
to hold the blade securely from top to bottom and
must snap in place to assure it will not move when
cutting. The blades model number corresponds to the
shear models. For example a model 50/55 blade will
fit onto a model 50 and model 55 shears.
Why is there a gap between the blades when the shear
is in the closed position?
The replacement blade feature of the shear requires the blades to maintain
a slight gap. This does not prevent the shears form cutting.
Feather Styling Razors
How long do the blades last?
One blade lasts around 3-5 haircuts, however, the type of hair and how
you angle and how you apply pressure to the cuts will determine the
life of the blade.
How can I get more cuts out of each blade?
After the blade starts to pull and fill dull pull the blade out completely
and turn it around. Reinsert the blade into the handle. Normally the
blade the first half of the blade dulls. By turning the blade completely
around you can use the portion of the blade that is still sharp.
Can you clean the neckline?
Yes. It isn't as good as a true straight razor but it can clean the neckline
reasonably well.
Must the guarded side of the blade face the head?
No. The factory aligns the blade guard to face the head for a right-
handed cutter. The guard facing the head prevents the razor from cutting
too much hair. It requires more angle to cut the hair. If the blade
is turned completely around with the guard away from the head, the
blade becomes more aggressive and will cut faster. Although there is
more blade exposure you will still be protected by the guard. For more
experienced razor cutters the guard away from the head is preferred.
Inexperienced stylist we recommend the guard against the head.
Can a left- handed person use this razor?
Yes. The blades cut hair whether the guard is against or away from the
head.
Can the disposal case be opened?
Yes. You can open the plastic case by holding the bottom portion with
one hand tightly and using the other hand grasp the top portion. Position
the thumb between the two slots where the top and bottom portion meet.
Apply pressure with the thumb until the prongs clear the hole and pull
away the top. |
